WhAT?

The Ithaca Rotary Community Fireworks Celebration is a community event in Ithaca, New York. Organized by the Ithaca Rotary Club, and supported wholly through donations from the community, the goal of the event is to celebrate our community by providing an Independence Day inspired event that is free and open to all members of the public.

WHERE?

For the best view of the fireworks, come to Stewart Park! We'll also have a second viewing site across the lake at Cass Park. The fireworks show will launched from the Newman Municipal Golf Course.

WHEN?

July 3, 6pm to 10:30pm.

  • 6:00pm: Food trucks & vendors
  • 9:00-9:45pm: The Jeff Love Band
  • 9:45pm: Fireworks!
  • 10:00pm until close: The Jeff Love Band

In case of rain, everything will be rescheduled to the 5th of July.

Why is it on July 3? Contracting for pyrotechnics on the 4th of July is very expensive. Holding the community fireworks on July 3 means we can get more bang for your buck.

Who?

Safety and security services are provided by Bangs Ambulance, Ithaca Police and Fire Departments, the Tompkins County Sheriff, and Cayuga Security.

Getting There

Please note that parking at Stewart Park will be restricted during the day of July 3 during event setup, to allow sufficient space for handicap permit and vendor parking.

Parking at Stewart Park for the event is limited to vehicles with handicap parking permits, vendor passes, or event staff.

Those wishing to enjoy the fireworks are urged to take advantage of the well‑lighted and convenient parking in downtown parking garages. TCAT buses with destination signs on the front of the buses marked “Fireworks” will begin service, approximately every 10 minutes, starting at 7:30 p.m., from Albany St. @ State St. (Salvation Army), Green Street Station, and Seneca Street Station. Service to Stewart Park will end at 9:30 p.m., just before the fireworks are scheduled to begin.

The “Fireworks” buses will also stop at all intersections along Cayuga Street, only as far as Lincoln Street. There will be no pick‑up/drop‑off service from Lincoln Street to Stewart Park. Those attending the event can also park their vehicles and walk to Stewart Park from Ithaca High School and Boynton Junior High School parking lots.

TCAT will provide return service from the entryway circle in Stewart Park until 11:15 pm.
